Our school motto is: Every child. Every chance. Every day.
At Ball Green Primary School, our vision statement incorporates our motto as we aim to be, “a school of smiles – where ‘every child’ is happy and given ‘every chance’ to be better, ‘every day’.”
We value the importance of kindness and empathy in creating a positive, nurturing school environment for all of our children. Our school community advocates for a relationship-based approach where ‘unconditional positive regard’ creates the foundations for the holistic development of our future citizens. Connection, care and emotional safety help our learners to feel valued and the implementation of kindness-based policies, with clearly understood boundaries, promotes a culture of mutual respect and trust in the classroom so that learning can take place and children can achieve better outcomes.
Our ‘RESPECT’ values are based on Unicef’s ‘Rights Respecting Schools Agenda,’ Lord Nolan’s ‘Seven Principles of Public Life’ and the virtues from ASCL’s ‘Framework for Ethical Leadership in Education.’ ‘RESPECT’ guides our daily interactions and practice:
R “Responsibility is key to character development. We cultivate accountability, empowering children to own their actions, choices and commitments. Responsibility equips children with the skills to become conscientious global citizens and to make a positive difference.”
E “We prioritise empathy, nurturing a deep understanding and compassion for others’ feelings and perspectives, fostering a caring and supportive community where understanding prevails.”
S “We instil the value of selflessness, encouraging children to embrace kindness and generosity towards others, nurturing a community where cooperation can flourish.”
P “We cultivate positivity, fostering a vibrant and uplifting environment, supporting each other’s growth so that every child can become the best version of themselves.”
E “We champion equity, ensuring every child has the opportunities that they need to thrive, regardless of their background, abilities, characteristics or circumstances.”
C “We champion courage, empowering children to face challenges with bravery, embracing new experiences and standing up for what is right, fostering resilience and confidence as they navigate their personal growth.”
T “We cultivate trust, teaching children the importance of honesty, reliability and integrity in their actions and interactions, fostering a community where trust is the foundation of strong relationships and academic success.”
“The school motto ‘Every child. Every chance. Every day’ is
realised at Ball Green. Staff go the extra mile to make sure that pupils get the help
and support they need.” Ofsted 2022
